Saija Katila (Dr. Sc. Econ, Adjunct Professor at Aalto
University and University of Eastern Finland) is a Senior University Lecturer
of Management and Organization at Aalto University School of Business. She is a
co-director of the Master’s Programme in People Management and Organizational
Development. She has been a visiting scholar at the University of
Massachusetts, Amherst (United States) and WU,
Vienna University of Economics and Business (Austria). She received her
PhD at Helsinki School of Economics.
In her research Saija Katila relies on
practice-based theories of organizing. She is especially interested in
practices of inclusion and exclusion, be it academic, entrepreneurial,
leadership or spatial practices. Thus, questions of gender and diversity are
close to her heart. She further serves as an associate editor for Gender, Work
and Organization, editorial board member for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
and a board member of Hilma, the national gender studies network.
