WORK EXPERIENCE

Current position

  • December 2010 - present: post-doctoral researcher at Department of Real Estate, Planning and Geoinformatics, Aalto University School of Engineering. Responsible teacher for three courses: "GIS and Geodetic Measurements", "Engineering Geodesy", and "Statistical Methods in Geodesy" and one seminar "Seminar in Geodesy, Positioning and Navigation".

Previous research and teaching appointments

  • January 2009 - November 2010: senior research scientist at the Finnish Geodetic Institute, Department of Navigation and Positioning, various tasks in the system implementation part (WP330) of the "3D-Personal Navigation and Location-Based Service for the World Exposition in Shanghai in 2010" project, funded by Finnish Technology Agency (TEKES).
  • February 2009: guest researcher, one-month internship at gAGE, Technical University of Catalonia (UPC), Barcelona, SPAIN. The topic of my visit was: "Ionosphere effect mitigation for single-frequency Precise Point Positioning".
  • April - August 2008: site manager, responsible with the operation of the EGNOS RIMS station in Finland in cooperation with ESSP (European Satellite Service Provider)
  • June 2006 - December 2008: research scientist at the Finnish Geodetic Institute, Department of Navigation and Positioning, responsible with the geo-referencing solution for the mobile mapping system as part of "Transportation data acquisition by means of ICT-derived 3D-modelling" project, funded by the Academy of Finland.
  • November 2005 - March 2006: teaching assistant at the Division of Geodesy, Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Stockholm, responsible for all exercises in "Analysis of measurements", "Advanced Theory of Errors", and "Physical Geodesy".
