I am a doctoral candidate from the Marine Technology research group. My background is in Navigation Technology and Intelligent Transportation Engineering (Marine Technology). The main focus of my work is big data analytics of ship behaviors/ navigation data in real operational conditions using emerging technologies, especially in collision/grounding avoidance behaviors. The outcomes will contribute to planning monitoring hotspot areas in various routes and set off alarms to trigger evasive actions for collision/grounding risk elimination (decision making) in real operational conditions, which have the potential to become one of the critical enablers for the future autonomous ship traffic operations or Maritime Intelligent Transport Systems (MITS). A minor interest is the implementation of collaborative ship control/ ship motions using big data analytics and machine learning in transportation modeling. I am currently engaged in H2020-FLARE and cooperating with stakeholders from industry, academia, and policymakers of the maritime industry.
