I work as a (study) psychologist at Aalto with responsibility for doctoral students. My main tasks will be to offer individual counseling and group support for doctoral students as well as providing training for LES and academic staff. In addition, my aim is to develop the psychologist services for doctoral students and together with other services, such as the doctoral education services and occupational health services, focus on increasing and maintaining doctoral students' wellbeing. During their PhD journey, doctoral students face several challenges, which are specific for the unique working environment in academia. In order to increase the wellbeing of doctoral students and early career researchers, we need to acknowledge these challenges and create a culture and an environment that supports the students to achieve their goals, without risking their wellbeing.
My passion and mission is to create better worklife and as a former researcher, I am well aware of the challenges of academic life. I hope I can help Aalto create the best doctoral services and have the happiest doctoral students in Finland!
I work in three languages; Finnish, Swedish and English.
