I obtained my doctoral degree from the School of Business in 2006. I have continued doing research on sustainable communication, innovation and leadership. I am a member of the Sustainability in Business (SUB) research group, especially in the area of Transformational change and leadership.
How do we organize human activity and lead systemic transformation in organizations in order to respond to our environmental and climate challenges and other sustainability problems? I approach this question from four main angles:
- Social scientific sustainability research
- Future-oriented systems thinking (systems sensing)
- Learning organization
- Human growth and transformative learning
My current interests focus on leadership and communication skills that enable us to not only learn new things but also unlearn old assumptions and mindsets to connect with a sustainable future. How do we nurture radical creativity, transformative learning and all forms of knowing (intellectual, intuitive, emotional and embodied) in organizations and society?
I am Theory U, Social Presencing Theater and Art of Hosting enthusiast, and thus interested in how emotional and embodied forms of intelligence can be used to cultivate a culture of trust and radical creativity.
I also teach Responsible Business and Communication at Aalto PRO (Aalto University Professional Development).

I obtained my doctoral degree from the School of Business in 2006. Since then, I have continued doing research on sustainable business and innovation. I am a member of the Sustainability in Business (SUB) research group.
In recent years, I have been especially interested in New Economy - the new ways in which we set up businesses and organize economic activity in order to respond to the rapidly warming Earth, declining natural resources and increasing inequality between humans.
Currently, my research interests focus especially on the sharing economy and other forms of sustainable innovation and entrepreneurship that are rapidly disrupting the traditional ways of planning, modeling and doing business, and that are gaining increasing interest in wide range of domains including entrepreneurship, innovation, tehnology and management.
I like to combine research and practical (multi-sector) co-creation around sustainable economy and shared leadership. My interests include: Theory U and Art of Hosting.
I also teach at Aalto PRO, Diploma in Responsible Business and Environmental Management - Kilpailuetua vastuullisuudesta.
