Dr. Kavindra Kumar Kesari is currently working as Senior Researcher in the Department of Applied Physics at the Aalto University, Espoo, Finland. He obtained Doctoral, Master, and Bachelor degreés from India. He served as an Assistant Professor position at Jaipur National University, Jaipur, India. He obtained his first Postdoctoral research from University of Eastern Finland, Kuopio, Finland. Currently, he is working on cell ultrastructure study with micro & macro spectroscopic techniques. His work mainly aimed to explore the fundamentals of cell wall ultrastructure of woody & non-woody materials and the mechanism of how cellulose elementary fibrils or aggregates are formed and their applications in biomedical research. His study also explores the medicinal applications of plant derived bioactive compounds and nanoparticles for disease treatment. Kesari, actively involved working in cell and cancer biology research with focus on qualitative and quantitative measurements by applying in vitro, in vivo & biocomputational methods. He has published over 80 papers in reputed journals, 20 book chapters, 5 books and presented over 25 papers at national and international scientific meetings. His Hirsch index (h-index) as of August 2021 is 29 on Google Scholar, 24 on Scopus. He has received four times young scientist award. His research interest focuses on neurobiology, radiation and cancer biology and therapeutic research.
Currently, I am working as Senior Scientist at the Department of Applied Physics, Aalto University, Finland. I have completed Doctoral, Master, and Bachelor degree´s from India and Postdoctoral research from University of Eastern Finland. Currently, I am working on wood ultrastructure with micro & macro spectroscopic techniques. My work mainly aimed to explore the fundamentals of cell wall ultrastructure of woody & non-woody fibers and the mechanism of how cellulose microfibrils aggregates are formed. I am also interested to see the orientation and distribution of wood cell wall materials (cellulose microfibril) and their surface characterization. Previously, I was mainly involved in cell and cancer biology research with focus on qualitative and quantitative measurements by applying in vitro, in vivo& biocomputational methods. I have published over 50 scientific papers in scientific journals, over 15 book chapters, 3 international books and presented over 25 papers at national and international scientific meetings. I have conducted several research projects and guided master and doctoral students. I have received four times young scientist award and several other awards for an outstanding contribution in research.
Previously, I was working as Research Scholar at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India (2005-2012). Here I obtained my PhD and first Postdoc Position. I joined Jaipur National University, India as Assistant Professor in 2012 and in 2013, joined as Postdoctoral Researcher at University of Eastern Finland, Kuopio, Finland
