Kamyar Hasanzadeh

Kamyar is a post-doc researcher at Department of Built Environment in Aalto University, Finland. He completed his PhD in the same department in 2019. He holds a BSc degree in Civil and Surveying engineering and a MSc in Geoinformation technology (GIS) from University of Tehran, and Aalto University respectively. Kamyar is currently working with public participation GIS (PPGIS) and his current focus is on developing innovative GIS methods for modeling individual activity spaces. Kamyar is particularly interested in using his GIS tools and skills in studying the contextual effects of built environment ̶ especially in residential areas ̶ on inhabitants’ lived experiences and perceived well-being.
Kamyar's current research interests include:
- Activity space and individual behavior modeling
- Innovative GIS tools/methods for urban studies
- Examining how the built environment is connected to health, well being
- Public Participation GIS (PPGIS)
- PPGIS data analysis, mining, and visualization
- Soft computing applications in GIS and Urban Planning

Kamyar is currently working with public participation GIS (PPGIS) and his PhD is mainly focused on developing innovative GIS methods for modeling individual activity spaces.
