Kamyar is a post-doc researcher at Department of Built Environment in Aalto University, Finland. He completed his PhD in the same department in 2019. He holds a BSc degree in Civil and Surveying engineering and a MSc in Geoinformation technology (GIS) from University of Tehran, and Aalto University respectively. Kamyar is currently working with public participation GIS (PPGIS) and his current focus is on developing innovative GIS methods for modeling individual activity spaces. Kamyar is particularly interested in using his GIS tools and skills in studying the contextual effects of built environment ̶ especially in residential areas ̶ on inhabitants’ lived experiences and perceived well-being.
