I currently host a small boutique called Web Studio at Aalto Studios, together with Oliver Manner.
In 2011, after 17 years of teaching, coaching and designing stuff at the Media Lab Helsinki, I thought it would be nice to reach out to the whole Aalto population by providing a simple, central service for everyone. So we set up a place where anyone at Aalto can get help, ideas, coaching, test devices and educational materials for doing their thing on the web.
In 2021, we're celebrating 10 years of Web Studio, as is our beloved sibling Aalto Fablab.
We provide dialogue, books, coffee, test devices, events and most important of all, time for you- students, staff, faculty- whoever you are.
And every now and then we build something our selves. Come visit us!

Before 1994, I worked in photography, occasional software programming and a number of sales positions. Starting 1994, at the Media Lab Helsinki, I managed the Computer Aided Photography lab, moved on to running the New Media Center activities and ended up in a split teaching/web development position. During the early 2000s, I was elected into the house board of the then University of Art and Design, where I served for one term. Enough university politics for a lifetime, for sure.
Over the years, I’ve led multiple efforts to create nice, inviting and comfortable spaces for working and hosting cozy events. Interfacing with architects as the buyers representative is always a great exercise in pursuing higher aims together.

On the side, I'm partner in our family business Kide Concepts, Inc. which has been providing design and consulting services on interactive media to a great portfolio of clients since 2000.
