My major research topic at Aalto is the theoretical modelling of novel functional semiconductor materials, especially all-inorganic and hybrid organic-inorganic halide perovskites which belong to the most promising materials of emergent optoelectronic technology. The research topics include
- large-scale density-functional-theory (DFT) calculations,
- theoretical defect study,
- theoretical surface and interface modelling,
- development of a multiscale modelling scheme for the structural complexity, and
- dynamical simulation.
I am also carrying out atomic- and electronic-structure calculations of other types of inorganic and hybrid semiconducting materials such as (Ga/In/Al)N and Ga2O3.

Before working at Aalto in Prof. Dr. Patrick Rinke's group (CEST), I finished my PhD at Technische Universität München, Germany (supervisor: Prof. Dr. Michael Thoss) and postdoc research at Georgia Institute of Technology (supervisor: Prof. Dr. Jean-Luc Brédas).
