Fares J. Abu-Dakka joined Intelligent Robotics Group, Department of Electrical Engineering and Automation (EEA) at Aalto University as a Research Fellow in 2019.
Hi research interests can be broadly categorized into the following topics: Robotics control (includes impedance control, force control, etc.), motion planning, and robot learning (includes imitation learning, iterative learning control, reinforcement learning, probabilistic learning, etc.). Specifically, he has developed a bunch of algorithms in robot learning among others.

Fares J. Abu-Dakka was researching at ADVR, Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT). Between 2013 and 2016 he was holding a visiting professor position at the Department of Systems Engineering and Automation of the Carlos III University of Madrid, Spain. He received his B.Sc.degree in mechanical engineering from Birzeit University, Palestine, in 2003, and his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in robotics motion planning from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain, in 2006 and 2011, respectively.
