My mathematical interests are in algebraic combinatorics, especially graph theory, polytope theory and the (combinatorial and topological) theory of partial orders. In my current research, I am working on applying these and related fields to coding, communications and information theory.
I am an organizer of the ANTA (algebra, number theory and applications) seminar.
I am also a regular visitor of the ADM (algebra and discrete math), Stochastics, and Algorithms seminars.
During the academic year 2022-2023, I am teaching:
MS-A0401 Diskreetin matematiikan perusteet
MS-E1050 Graph theory
MS-A0009 Matrisräkning
MS-A0002 Matriisilaskenta

With members from the research group for Algebra, Number Theory and Applications (ANTA), I am collaborating on matroid theory applied to data storage systems. In particular, I am working on bounds and constructions for locally repairable codes and private information retrieval.

Since 2018, I have been a university lecturer (2018-2019 with the title University Teacher) at Aalto University. Before that, I was a senior researcher at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the Technical University of Munich in Germany, where I was working with Professor Antonia Wachter-Zeh. My PhD was obtained from Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden in 2012.
