Amber Geurts is Postdoctoral Researcher at both the Department of Applied Physics (PHYS/CEST) and the
Department of Management Studies (BIZ) at Aalto University. In this interdisciplinary research project, called DataSciMat, she studies the emerging field of big data driven materials science from a socio-economic perspective.
Her research interests focus on technological change and novelty. She is especially interested in topics around the management of digital and disruptive technologies and innovations. In previous and ongoing research, she has also studied (organizational) identity, and the creative industries - using both quantitative and qualitative methodologies.
Amber completed her PhD in Innovation Management at the School of Economics & Business of the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. Her PhD has won the 2018 ISPIM Innovation Management Dissertation Award.
